Sydney 1948 - 49 Speedway season - Frank Brewer (in 10) lands the two V860s #10 and # 48 from the USA. Andy McGavin in 48. Both cars went on to fabulous racing careers here, and both cars are still with us albeit in different restored forms. # 10 as the BIG BERCO #2 and # 48 as the Mackay Harvey #13.
Frank 'Satan' Brewer in the Eddie Meyer V860 # 99. Frank was christened 'SATAN ' in his homeland of New Zealand because they said
" he drove like the DEVIL" '

Harold Barnes - Supercharged Jeep # 5 . Car is still with us in restored form.
Harold Barnes and with Supecharged Jeep engine in his later Car # 3 - car later fitted with a Holden engine.
Not a Midget - but Harold Barnes fitted out the very first Stock Car in Sydney.
Harry Neale of South Australia in his REPCO Holden SA 1. This was the ex Frank Brewer # 99 and in later years the BIG BERCO # 2. Harry lost his life in this car in an accident at Claremont Speedway W.A. on February 9 1959.

Big Jack O'Dea of Victoria in his Vic 65 Studebaker powered Midget.
Car went on in later years to be the Kevin Park # 66.
English Solo Speedway ace - Jack Parker in the Brewer # 48 at the Sydney Sportsground Speedway - Jack crashed 48,. broke his arm and suffered head damage which virtually wrecked his long Speedway career.

(out) in 48 with Lionel Levy in 6 at the rear.
Jack Skelton in the Dark # 1 Twin at Cumberland Oval Parramatta. Jack lost his life in a Sidecar accident at the Sydney Showground Speedway on 4.1.1947.
Rising young star driver ( later to become a Super Star) - Jeff Freeman in the Max Linklater Holden # 55. Jeff lost his life in a Speedcar accident at Westmead Speedway on 9.5.1965.
John Harvey in the Hills Coventry Climax powered #96 with owner Joe Hills.
John Harvey in the Mackay Holden # 13 . As previously mentioned this car started out as the Brewer # 48.
