Bill Reynolds ( #78 Skirrow) wins the 1941 World's Speedcar Championship at the Sydney Sportsground Speedway.
Mis Penny Penglaze in the Frank Arthur / Empire Speedway's owned midget # 18.  Top English Solo rider Jack Parker also drove ths car in the late 1930s.
The actual number 18 was used at a later date with the Fay Taylour - Bill Reynolds V860 ( ex Brewer # 48 owned by Empire Speedways) .

American Paul Swedberg's Offenhauser Midget at Mt Panorama Bathurst - 1940. 
This was the first Offenhauser engined Midget to race in Australia.
 Swedberg drove it at Bathurst over two succssive years.
Top Australian and International Solo Speedway rider Max Grosskreutz sits in his self made Midget Speedcar at Newcastle Speedway, the car was 4 wheel drive and powered by two Rudge Speedway bike engines , 1 front and 1 back.

Touring Irish Speedcar driver Fay Taylour in the Empire Speedway's V860 
( running as # 18) at the Sportsground in 1953.
Edna Wells here in the # 6 A Model Ford midget ( ex Ray Revell Q1).
 Edna was Fay's female opposition on the track and beat Fay in Match races.
A bit of fun on a 'KRAZY night' at the Sydney Sportsground early 50s,
Bill Reynolds dressed as 'Miss What a Cam" ( due to the profile of his dress ! ) gets pushed away in the Reece Discombe NZ35 V860. No Push Cars in that era. Rider on right in leathers is Graham Warren.

New Zealander Reece Discombe in his Ford V860 NZ35. After racing Reece went into Marine Salvage in Vanuatu and was very successful.
