Charlie and Bill Shevill were great mates, raced Speedboats against each other and when racing their cars at Windsor Speedway - the racng started at Sans Souci as they left home. Charlie lost his life in an accident at Windsor RSL Speedway on 12.8.1956 aged 31. Bill passed away aged 87 in 2018.
At 14 years of age my very good mate - the late David Johnsen sits on his idol's car. David grew up with Howard Revell and his Dad Ray and David was allowed to wash and clean the famous Offy - Australia # 1 - between meetings . Later David was a Pit Crew member for Howard. David drove the M & D Mtrs # 4 Holden at Westmead.
In later years David restored and ran in Vintage - the Little BERCO REPCO Holden Midget # 65.
